LEA is honoured to have received two awards for our incredible work on the Highway 535 Water Management Plan. We were recognized by the ACEC-Ontario’s Ontario Engineering Project Awards (OEPA) as the 2023 Award of Distinction in the Environmental category and named 2022 Public Works Project of the Year in the Environmental, less than $2 Million category by Ontario Public Works Association. In addition, we were named 1 of 4 finalists for the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Environmental Achievement Awards. While we did not receive that award, we should be proud of the recognition we received among esteemed contenders, including larger firms and significant projects across Canada.
LEA was retained by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), to review and evaluate design alternatives to address beaver dam failure impacts, local water management challenges, and mitigate sediment transport to Lake Nipissing.
LEA is grateful to have worked alongside the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and Water’s Edge as part of the winning team and for their invaluable contributions to the project's success. This was also a collaborative project involving our Civil, Transportation Infrastructure Design (Highway), and Contract Administration (Environmental) practice areas.
