The LEA Group was formed in 1984 by the merger of
the consulting practices of Damas & Smith Limited and N.D. Lea Associates
Ltd. The founding firms were originally incorporated in 1953 and 1962
respectively. The LEA Group is a Canadian consulting engineering firm
offering a broad spectrum of civil engineering consulting services focusing
on municipal engineering, highway engineering, traffic and transportation
engineering, structural engineering and construction administration. Over
the past 56 years the firm's clientele has included both the public and
private sectors in Canada and abroad.
LEA is wholly owned by principals and associates,
all of whom participate professionally in the day-to-day technical and
management activities of their respective firms.
LEA Consulting Ltd.
LEA Consulting Ltd. is LEA's Toronto regional office,
formerly known as "DS-Lea Associates Ltd." LEA Consulting Ltd.
has worked with many municipalities in Southern Ontario, over a period
of 56 years. LEA is an active member of the Consulting Engineers of Ontario,
Association of Consulting Engineering Companies-Canada and the Transportation
Association of Canada.
LEA International Ltd.
From thirty-two years of experience in more than forty different countries,
LEA International Ltd. (LEA) has developed the background and insight
to anticipate such changes and fit the transport sector to the resultant
needs. Throughout its areas of service LEA responds to environmental and
sustainability considerations in addition to technical concerns.
LEA International Ltd. was established in 1962 and has offices in Toronto
and New Delhi.
As the international consulting arm of LEA Group Holdings Inc., LEA has
a reputation for producing work of a high technical standard within a
global working environment encompassing wide variations in social, economic
and physical conditions. The firm obtains over 90% of its assignments
from the transport sector - road, rail, aviation, public transport, transport
economics and planning projects.
Our specialists are fully comfortable and conversant with the special
requirements imposed by working in a variety of cultural conditions -
particularly the factors that affect the successful execution of consulting
engineering projects. We have significant experience in developing countries
in Africa, South Asia, SE Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. (LASA)
LEA Associates South Asia Pvt. Ltd. (LASA) was setup
as an Indian subsidiary of LEA, in the year 1993 and is working under
the international banner of LEA Group Holdings Inc., Canada. LASA carries
over 10 years of excellent experience of working in the Indian sub-continent,
offering full range of consulting services from concept to implementation
stage covering areas of feasibility and pre-feasibility studies, preliminary
design, detailed engineering design, repairs, rehabilitation and reconstruction,
BOT studies, construction supervision, institutional strengthening, training,
environmental impact assessment/management plan (EIA/EMP), resettlement
action plan (RAP), economic and financial analysis, quality assurance
and technical audit, transport planning, traffic engineering, and others.
LASA has been in the forefront of infrastructure consultancy
evolution in India in the last decade and has developed a niche for ourselves
in providing value addition solutions. Renowned for providing superior
quality consultancy services to its clients; ranging from national and
state governments, private entrepreneurs, international funding agencies
viz. National Highways Authority of India, Ministry of Road Transport
and Highways, State PWDs, the World Bank, the ADB, CIDA, IL & FS,
