LEA's broad international experience in the planning,
design, construction management, and maintenance of all types of highways,
continues to be an important resource for transportation projects in Canada
and overseas.
The complexity of projects undertaken has varied widely
from lightly trafficked rural roads in remote regions to sophisticated freeway
systems in highly developed urban centres. Consideration is always given to
the environment, aesthetics, operational safety, durability, and use of modern

Highway 427/QEW/Sherway Gardens Interchange Modifications

As part of a public/private partnership for infrastructure improvements in Ontario, Canada Life Assurance and the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario entered into an agreement to share costs for improvements and modifications to the ramps at Highway 427/Frederick Gardiner Freeway/Queen Elizabeth Way/Brown’s Line Interchange on the west side of The City of Toronto. Improvements to the interchange include widening of the Gardiner, modifications to SB Brown’s Line, 4 new ramps and modifications to 3 others, and the construction of 5 bridges and 11 retaining walls. |

Highway 401 Widening - Whites Road to Brock Road

LEA Consulting Ltd. were retained by the MTO to prepare the final design of the Express/Collector system for Highway 401 from east of Whites Road to Westney Road, in the Town of Pickering - a total length of 4 kms. |

Hwy. 69 Intersection Improvements at Bowes Street
LEA were retained by the MTO for the addition of a northbound bypass through lane, grading, drainage, resurfacing of 1.2 km, rock face cutback, utility relocations, signals & overhead signs. |

Fort York Boulevard, Bathurst Street and
Lakeshore Boulevard

This project entailed the new construction of a 4-lane urban collector road adjacent to a historical Fort York. The road will serve to raise the profile of Fort York as a historical landmark and expose the Fort to the travelling public by improving visibility, accessibility and aesthetics, providing facilities for public transit and tour buses. Regional Road 25

LEA were retained by the Regional Municipality of Halton to prepare detailed design drawings and construction contract administration for the rehabilitation of Regional Road 25 from north of Highway 401, northerly 7.3 km. |

Highway 3 resurfacing, west of Dunnville, 20 kms
LEA were retained by the MTO to identify the safety and operational deficiencies and design pavement rehabilitation. The project included crossfall correction, partially paved shoulders, drainage improvements, curve widening, guiderail replacement, upgrade commercial entrances, signage and Environmental Screening report. |

Resurfacing Highway 401 west of Highway 4 to Union Road

LEA provided Total Project Management for the MTO which involved the resurfacing of 10.2 km of Highway 401 from 3.2 km west of Highway 4 westerly to 0.8 km west of Union Road and upgrading the speed change lanes at the Union Road Interchange. |

Major Mackenzie Drive from Woodbine Avenue to Markham Bypass

LEA were retained by the Regional Municipality of York to provide engineering services associated with the Class Environmental Assessment, detailed design, and preparation of multiple construction contracts for the widening of 10 km Major Mackenzie Drive from Woodbine Avenue to the Markham Bypass. |
