Perley Bridge Replacement Project
LEA were responsible for project management, bridge design, and construction supervision for a large 700 metre long 4-lane post-tensioned segmental I-girder Interprovincial bridge over the Ottawa River from Hawkesbury, Ontario to Grenville, Quebec
Bridge 606, Highway 409
Greater Toronto Airport Groundside Association (GTAGA) required services for a large steel box girder bridge as part of the highway expansion required for the new Toronto Airport terminal located on Highway 409.
GO Transit Bus Terminal - Union Station
LEA were reatined by GO Transit to provide preliminary and detailed desing for a new bus terminal to replace the existing CP Express Building that extends between Bay and Yonge Streets south of Front Street adjacent to Union Station, Toronto.
Highway 427/QEW/Sherway Gardens Interchange Modifications
As part of a public/private partnership for infrastructure improvements in Ontario, Canada Life Assurance and the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario entered into an agreement to share costs for improvements and modifications to the ramps at Highway 427/Frederick Gardiner Freeway/Queen Elizabeth Way/Brown’s Line Interchange on the west side of The City of Toronto. Improvements to the interchange include widening of the Gardiner, modifications to SB Brown’s Line, 4 new ramps and modifications to 3 others, and the construction of 5 bridges and 11 retaining walls.
Islington Avenue - Highway 407 Bridge
LEA carried out structural design and prepared contract documents for a new 4 lane cast-in-place post-tensioned bridge, carrying Islington Ave. over Highway 407 in Toronto, Ontario (MTO).
CP Express Building Demolition - Union Station
In August 2000, LEA Consulting Ltd. were retained by GO Transit to provide a preliminary design for a new bus terminal to replace the existing CP Express Building that extended between Bay and Yonge Streets south of Front Street adjacent to Union Station in Toronto
Heartland Business Community - Parking Garage
The Heartland Business Community Parking Garage was undertaken for Orlando Corporation in summer 1998 with construction work starting in November 1998. The garage will largely serve the office building at 55 Standish Court.
Peter Street Bridge
The Peter Street Bridge, recently renamed "Blue Jays Way" rises in an arch to cross Toronto's railway corridor at the SkyDome. The bridge is heavily used by pedestrians and motorists using the stadium.
Simcoe Street Bridge (SkyWalk)
This major pedestrian bridge (deck width 10 metres) with a total length of over 180 metres spans the TTR railway corridor, servicing Toronto's SkyDome
QEW and Highway 403 over Ford Drive Interchange Bridges
LEA were retained to carry out detailed inspection work and NDT testing at 14 fatigue critical bridge structures for MTO, Central Region. During the assignment, the work was extended to include inspection of 4 steel box girder bridges at the QEW and Highway 403 over Ford Drive Interchange.
York Street Pedestrian Bridge
The York Street pedestrian bridge provides a unique enclosed climate controlled linkage between Toronto's Union Station and the old CN Express Building, spanning 34 metres over York Street.
Palace Place Condominium Tower
The original Phase I four-level underground garage at the Palace Place Condominium complex required reconfiguration and repairs for a variety of reasons. The condominium complex was expanded in the late 80’s/early 90’s through construction of a second high rise building and second parking garage. This expansion necessitated functional retrofit of the existing parking garage.
Rehabilitation and Widening of the Markham Road Bridge over CPR
In the Spring of 1993, Markham Road will be widened from four to six lanes between Sheppard Avenue and Steeles Avenue. In preparation, several of the bridges in this section of Markham Road are being rehabilitated and widened.
Baxter Lake North Crossing - Highway 69
LEA Consulting Ltd. carried out structural design, and prepared contract documents for two new bridge structures in Northern Ontario, Canada.
Allen Station, Eglinton West Subway
Allen station is the eastern terminal of the Eglinton West Subway providing transfer to the Spadina Subway as well as surface street buses. The station was to be part of a Rapid Transit Expansion Program funded by the Province of Ontario, Metropolitan Toronto, and the Toronto Transit Commission.
Jordan Harbour - QEW Bridge
LEA Consulting Ltd. provided structural engineering design services for a new five span bridge required as part of the replacement of existing bridges for the Queen Elizabeth Way highway on the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario, Canada.
Bissett Creek Bridge - Trans Canada Highway
LEA Consulting Ltd. provided structural engineering services for complete rehabilitation of an existing three span bridge over Bissett Creek on Highway 17.
