Congratulations to Chris Sidlar, who has been appointed to Senior Vice President, Transportation
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Sidlar, M.Sc.Pl, MCIP, RPP, as Senior Vice President in the Transportation Practice Area. Chris joined LEA in 2007 as a Transportation Planner and over the past 17 years, he has gained a wealth of experience coordinating and managing parking studies, master plans, environmental assessments, traffic operations studies, public meetings and stakeholder engagement.
Chris has been instrumental in the growth of the Transportation Practice Area, its people and clients. He has also managed major transportation projects, including projects involving services from multiple LEA Practice Areas, and has developed a comprehensive understanding of multi-modal transportation planning and the interconnectedness of land use planning and transportation planning.
In 2021, Chris was promoted to Co-Practice Area Lead of Transportation, co-leading with Ken Chan. Under Chris’ leadership with Ken, the Transportation Team has grown significantly to over 60 people to help LEA meet the industry's growing demands and position LEA competitively as experts in both transportation engineering and planning.
Since Chris joined the firm, he has always given 110% and found innovative ways to propel LEA forward. His leadership qualities have added incredible value to the firm, from the mentoring of employees to turning small assignments into large multi-Practice Area projects. Well done, Chris! I have no doubt about even greater things to come from you!

Congratulations to Farzad Fahimi on his Promotion to Co-Practice Area Lead of the Civil Practice Area
We are pleased to announce that Farzad Fahimi, Ph.D., P.Eng., will take on the role of Co-Practice Area Lead for the Civil Group, alongside Rick Baldasti. Since joining LEA in 2022 as Vice President of Land Development, Farzad has played a pivotal role in the growth of the firm’s land development sector. With over 20 years in the industry, Farzad has extensive experience in stakeholder management, land development, transit, infrastructure planning, and municipal design, leading some of the most challenging and unique development projects, large-scale municipal studies (e.g., MESP, SWS and Municipal Class EA), subdivision and site plan projects.
Farzad is also dedicated to promoting sustainable practices within the industry. In 2023, Farzad was appointed Chair of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Ontario’s (ACEC-Ontario) Sustainability and Climate Change Network. As the Chair, Farzad directs the network to help shape the conversation around sustainability and climate change and position the consulting engineering industry as a leader on this increasingly important topic.
Farzad’s leadership and dedication have significantly aided our team’s success, and his forward-thinking will continue to elevate LEA to the forefront of innovation and sustainability.
Farzad has been with LEA for only a short time but has made such a tremendous impact in strengthening and growing the firm and representing LEA in the industry. I look forward to what he will bring next! Congratulations Farzad!
