LEA is thrilled to share that we have been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People (2025) by Mediacorp Canada Inc., the organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. This award celebrates Canadian employers who provide exceptional workplaces and programs for young people starting their careers. The top employers are chosen by the programs and the initiatives they offer to attract and retain young workers. The full list of winners is featured in a special magazine and published online in The Globe and Mail.

This award is a testament to our commitment as an employee-owned firm to fostering an environment where employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to succeed. This is especially true for the continued success of our firm, as we prepare our next generation of leaders for the future.

At LEA, we offer many benefits to attract, retain and support young professionals, including a mentorship program, training programs, and our Young Professionals Group. Our mentorship program runs for a full year, pairing staff early in their careers with seasoned professionals. The program enables mentors and mentees to build a connection and benefit from an experience that supports personal and professional development. LEA also invests in employee development through courses and job-specific training, supported by our tuition assistance program.

In April 2022, LEA established the Young Professionals Group (YP Group), a dedicated group to further support the development of our young professionals. The initiative started with the goal of creating a sense of belonging for young professionals and providing opportunities for networking and career development. The YP Group has successfully hosted monthly events that focus on professional development, public speaking, communication skills, and mentorships including a Learn with LEAders series. Jocelyn Wallen, P.Eng., Assistant Manager, Project Management, Transportation and Chair of the YP Group shares, “It has been incredibly rewarding to see an idea turn into something tangible by providing monthly events for young professionals. With the support from senior management and industry partners, we have been able to improve the way young professionals approach their work and invest in the future of the company.”

For engineering and planning students, LEA offers an internship program that provides valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to explore different industry disciplines. We are proud we can help support young people as they take significant steps in their lives and embark on their careers. It is always a pleasure to welcome interns back to LEA as full-time employees after their graduation—it is a testament to the value of our program and reaffirms our commitment to fostering their growth and being part of their ongoing career development.

We are honoured to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People (2025) and to be ranked among the leading organizations in the country. LEA remains committed to building a workplace where young professionals can grow, excel, and shape the future of LEA.
