On May 1, 2025, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Ontario (ACEC-Ontario) hosted its annual Ontario Engineering Project Awards (OEPA) Gala at Eglinton Grand in Toronto. The event celebrates excellence in consulting engineering and showcases the impactful work being done across the province. That evening LEA received one of ten Awards of Distinction at the 2025 OEPA Gala for the Development of a Flood Risk Assessment Model for Infrastructure in York Region.
This recognition is a testament to the innovative work and technical excellence of our Civil and Environmental team, led by Farzad Fahimi Ph.D., P.Eng. The model aimed to integrate climate considerations into infrastructure decision-making, enhancing resiliency and supporting the region’s service delivery. It also provided actionable insights for urban planning and sustainable development, setting a benchmark for climate resilience and adaptation in large-scale urban environments.
