LEA’s Buildings Team Awarded Structural Consulting Engineering

Congratulations to LEA’s Buildings Team, who were recently awarded Structural Consulting Engineering on the 44 Frid Street project – part of McMaster Innovation Park.
McMaster Innovation Park (MIP) is an award winning, internationally recognized, research and innovation park, located in Hamilton, Ontario. The purpose of MIP is to attract the best researchers and businesses that can transform ideas from vision to commercial reality. MIP is converting brownfield sites into premier research facilities with a focus on sustainable design principles and a goal of Net Zero Carbon.

The project is being delivered using the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) method, and will involve the adaptive reuse of the iconic, former Hamilton Spectator newspaper building into a life sciences research laboratory and a Tier 3 Data Centre.

Once completed (expected: 2023), this ~260,000 ft2 building will become a state-of-the-art research facility focused on life sciences research.
