Project Description

The Spadina Group Associates (TSGA), a joint venture of Stevens Group Architects, Halsall Associates and LEA Consulting Ltd. has been retained by the TTC to design and provide construction liaison services for the Pioneer Village (formerly, Steeles West) station located on Steeles Avenue between Jane St. and Keele St. and straddling the boundary of the City of Toronto and the City of Vaughan on the proposed extension of the Spadina subway from Downsview to the Vaughan Corporate Centre.
 
The project involves the preparation and evaluation of alternative conceptual designs, the preliminary and final design level below grade subway station as well as construction cost estimates, bills of quantities and contract documents and the provision of liaison services during construction. TSGA and its sub-consultants are providing a comprehensive range of services including, but not limited to: architecture, structural engineering, civil/transportation engineering of the surface elements of the station (commuter parking, passenger pick-up and drop-off, bus terminal, road extension, pedestrian entrances, utility relocation, staging plans), mechanical and electrical components, landscaping, environmental, and geotechnical engineering.
 
LEA Consulting Ltd. provided structural and civil/transportation services. Civil/Transportation Services included design of the Municipal Services and Utilities relocation/protection and liaison during construction.
