Bridges
LEA is recognized as a leading bridge consultant on municipal, provincial, national, and international levels. We provide public and private sector clients with design, evaluation, contract administration, and design management services through conventional Design-Bid-Build projects as well as Design-Build and Public Private Partnership (P3) projects. Our highway infrastructure projects cover a wide spectrum of steel, concrete, and timber bridges as well as pedestrian bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
As one of the pioneer consultants in Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC), the Replacement of Highway 401 Underpass Structure at Highway 19, is one of our projects adopting the Ontario Ministry of Transportation's (MTO) get-in-get-out construction methodology.
In keeping with our philosophy to practice sustainable design techniques and preserve Canadian heritage, LEA carried out the detailed design for the Duchesnay Creek Bridge over Highway 17B which is the first glue-laminated timber highway bridge to be built in Ontario.
"In a project which interweaves economic opportunities for First Nations, nurtures the enhanced use of timber, and pays tribute to this province’s bridge history"
(quoted from the Daily Commercial News by ConstructConnect)
Through our internationally acclaimed bridge experts, LEA is contributing towards the development of bridge standards and design codes in various Canadian and American technical committees.
