What is the role?
LEA is currently recruiting a Senior Inspector for a multi-year project located in Toronto. This pivotal role demands prior experience as a senior inspector on projects exceeding $25 million in value. As a Senior Inspector, your responsibilities will center on overseeing construction activities and site operations, ensuring meticulous compliance with contractual specifications, drawings, and project requirements throughout all construction phases.

In this role, your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of contract operations in relation to the Contractor's activities.
  • Document executed work and precisely measure quantities completed to facilitate monthly progress assessments and final payments to the contractor.
  • Record actual construction time and contractor activities, detailing work areas, equipment movement, manpower, and prevailing weather conditions.
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of all applicable milestone inspections in the appropriate diaries.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance measures are followed throughout the project.
  • Manage additional diaries as directed by the Contract Administrator to support project monitoring and reporting.
  • Assisting with managing other related assignments within the scope of the Contract Administration practice area.
 
The qualifications you need:
  • Road Construction Senior Inspector Designation (RCSI).
  • Prior experience on at least 5 projects, each of a value over $25 million
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments.
  • Good knowledge of Ontario legislation and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications related to the work.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, high accuracy and attention to detail.

 
The work arrangement:
Ability to work flexible hours according to project schedules and travel to the site location in Toronto. Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle.
