Giving Back to the Community, Rain or Shine

LEA employees with guests at the 2018 Providence Golf Classic.Representatives from LEA were happy to take part once again in the Ken & Nancy Shaw Providence Golf Classic at Coppinwood Golf Club in Goodwood, ON. This year marked the 24th anniversary of the charity event, which raised $230,000 for the Providence Healthcare facility in Toronto. Providence Healthcare is a leader in providing rehabilitation, palliative care, long-term care and community programs. The organization dates back to 1857, when the Sisters of St. Joseph opened the doors to the first “House of Providence” on Power Street in downtown Toronto. Providence has been providing life-changing services to the community ever since.

Due to a stroke of bad luck, the golf tournament was officially rained out. However, despite the gloomy weather, the afternoon transformed into an indoor banquet filled with fun and camaraderie. With a surprise live segment from comedian Dave Hempstad, there was plenty of entertainment and good times had by all! The event also raised an additional $22,000 to allow Providence to purchase almost six Vital Signs Monitors for the Healthcare facility.

LEA is proud to continue our involvement with this outstanding organization.
