LEA Runs in Support of Giving Kids a Chance to be Kids

At LEA, we encourage a healthy workforce and our team members live active lifestyles outside of their offices. LEA team members recently participated in two running events in support of helping children get the most out of their childhood by helping them participate in sports and outdoor activities – the Sporting Life 10k run, and the Fork in the Road 5k.

Sporting Life 10k

Five of our team members participated in the Sporting Life 10k on May 13, 2018. The Sporting Life 10k is an annual race that takes place in downtown Toronto, where you run along iconic Yonge Street all the way down to the prominent city waterfront. Sporting Life 10k benefits Camp Ooch, an overnight camp in Canada, that provides children affected by childhood cancer a chance to be kids. While it was crowded, causing our members to lose sight of each other at the event, they were able to find each other again back at the office to take a photo commemorating their completion of the run.

Fork in the Road 5k

LEA team members also gathered at Woodnewton in Uxbridge, Ontario to run in Fork in The Road, a 5 km trail race that provides participants with the chance to run the standard 5 km course, or extend it up to 8 km of beautiful – but hilly – scenery depending on the path you choose at the “fork.” Fork in the Road proudly supports Canadian Tire Jumpstart, a national charity that helps financially disadvantaged kids take part in organized sport and recreational activities.
